Plot of The Naked Gun – Is it true to the original Naked Gun?

Just like in the original, The Naked Gun reboot follows the wildly unpredictable misadventures of a bumbling law enforcement officer who somehow manages to save the day, despite being a walking disaster. This time, Frank Drebin (Liam Neeson) is back to his old self, caught up in a high-stakes conspiracy that could threaten national security… or at the very least cause a very large mess.

While the new film nods to the original’s signature mix of slapstick chaos, visual gags, and offbeat one-liners, it’s not afraid to retool the formula for modern audiences. Neeson’s Drebin is still hilariously straight-faced amid the madness, but he’s joined by a cast of fresh characters, including a tech-savvy rookie partner and a villain with suspiciously grand ambitions.
